The Tahune AirWalk offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience Tasmania’s forest from high above. Walking three stories up through the treetops, you’ll take in breathtaking views of the Picton River, Huon River, Hartz Mountains, and an array of diverse tree species. Along with the renowned Huon pines, the forest features eucalypt trees, King Billy pines, beeches, celery tops, blackwoods, sassafras, myrtle, and flowering leatherwood.
The entire Tahune AirWalk site can take up to three hours to explore, with shorter walks available such as the Huon Pine Walk and Picton House Site Walk. Open year-round, the hours vary with the seasons, and the site may close on Christmas Day or in hazardous weather for safety reasons.
Tahune AirWalk offers family and concession tickets, and visitors can also hire unpowered camping sites for a fee. It’s recommended to wear sturdy shoes and warm clothing, as high heels are not suitable for the walk's conditions.
After enjoying the treetop adventure, visitors can relax in the free barbecue and picnic area or grab a bite at the on-site restaurant, which also offers takeaway options.
Located just 90 minutes from Hobart, the AirWalk is accessible via the Huon Highway.
As part of the Adventure Forests collection, the Tahune AirWalk joins other thrilling attractions such as Hollybank Treetops Adventure, Tarkine Forest Adventures, and Maydena Adventure Hub, offering a variety of ways to explore Tasmania’s natural beauty.
